Intermediate Indoor Climbing Course

For Upcoming Course Dates, see details HERE.

This course is aimed at those who have completed a Beginners Course or are competent with top roping techniques, and are preferably climbing at grade F5 or above on top rope.

This course lasts three weeks and covers:

  • A revision of basic skills, including fitting the harness, tying in and belaying

  • Advanced rope work and belaying for leading, including knots and anchors

  • Lead climbing indoors and on sport routes, clipping safely and efficiently

  • Climbing calls for leading, communicating with your partner

  • Correct selection of ropes and other lead climbing equipment

from 8 through to 70.

Run at Pinnacle Climbing Centre, Far Cotton, Northampton. We generally run parties for up to 10 or up to 20 kids which would normally last 2 hours.

This gives the right time for the kids to get some climbing done, but not too much so that they get bored. A rough outline of what we would do is shown below, but we always tailor the party to suit the group.

All equipment is provided in the cost of the course.

The party will generally cover:

  • Introduction and warm up.

  • Kitting out in a harness and helmet.

  • Climbing approx 3 routes each and learning to belay for the rest of the group.

  • A short break after an hour for a drink followed by more climbing.

  • Climbing games and bouldering for the last 20mins.

  • Possibility of adding a caving ladder climb for some time at the end. Also includes certificates and downloadable invitations.

Party cost = £125.00 (based on 10 kids for 2 hours). Every additional child is £12.50.
